Burial/memorial information
On 26 December 1914, the Glenmorven had just left Tyne for Leghorn, England, when she was reported missing. On investigation, it was discovered that she had struck a mine laid by the German light cruiser Kolbert off Scarborough, England, the largest minefield ever produced in naval history. The Glenmorven sank with her 21 crew members.
