He served with the Royal Air Force. He died on Jul 7, 1918 at 20 years of age. His grave is 709 1/2. Blk. N., Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, Ontario. He is commemorated on the Memorial Arch at the Royal Military College of Canada, with an All Saints' Anglican Church Memorial Plaque (Hamilton) and on page 586 of the First World War Book of Remembrance.
