Additional information
Baptized Joseph-Honoré-Adélard Cabana, but he went by the first name “Henri” instead of Honoré. Son of Louis Cabana (deceased in 1911) and Domithilde Desnoyers (deceased in 1894), of Beloeil, Québec. Henri married to Mathilde Labelle (from Montréal) in 1903 and she died in 1913. They had three sons and a daughter. He named his brother Louis, of Montréal, as next of kin, heir and tutor of his sons.

The birth year inscribed in his Attestation paper is 1888, which is wrong by five years, but correctly inscribed 1883 elsewhere in his military file.

Enlisted in the 41st Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, he arrived in Plymouth, England on 28 October 1915. Transferred to the 22nd Battalion on 29 June 1916, he set foot in France on 13 July and fought in Belgium, where he was killed in action.
