919 Captain Edward Ashworth Whitehead Jr. (RMC 1911) was the son of Colonel Edward Ashworth Whitehead, and Ella May Sicotte (his wife), of Montreal. He attended Bishop's College School. During the one year he studied at RMC 'Arch' played on the football team and participated in guns and crown. After leaving RMC, he engaged in a business career. He enlisted with the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force at 20 years of age. He listed his occupation as student. He was born 08/05/1894. He served as an officer with the 1 Royal Montreal 2 Battalion. His regimental number was 25906. He served with the Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment), 14th Battalion. He died on Jun 3, 1916 at 22 years of age. He was commemorated on Page 181 of the First World War Book of Remembrance. He was buried in the Railway Dugouts Durial Ground VI. H. 40. in Belgium.

RAILWAY DUGOUTS BURIAL GROUND Belgium
RAILWAY DUGOUTS BURIAL GROUND (Transport Farm) is located 2 Km south east of Ieper town centre, on the Komenseweg, a road connecting Ieper to Komen (N336).
From Ieper town centre the Komenseweg is located via the Rijselsestraat, through the Rijselpoort (Lille Gate) and crossing the Ieper ring road, towards Armentieres and Lille. The road name then changes to Rijselseweg. 1 Km along the Rijselseweg lies the left hand turning onto Komenseweg. The cemetery itself is located 1.2 Km along the Komenseweg on the right hand side of the road.
