Private Albert Tuttle Boardman, my great grandfather, suffered shrapnel wounds to the right hand, arm and thigh in the November 7, 1917 attack on Passchendaele. He didn't recover from these wounds, and died on January 17, 1918. He left behind a wife and 3 children in Alberta.

Etaples is a town about 27 kilometres south of Boulogne. The Etaples Military Cemetery is to the north of the town, on the west side of the road to Boulogne.
