Son of Joseph and Martha Robson, of Newcastle-on-Tyne, England. Husband of Ruth Robson, of St. Boniface, Manitoba.
'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty on September 15th and 16th 1916, this stretcher bearer worked unceasingly under intense fire attending to wounded in shell holes in the depth of 1200 yards by his own efforts he succeeded in evacuating and saving the lives of a large number of his comrades.' (London Gazette): 9-12-16). <P>

Etaples is a town about 27 kilometres south of Boulogne. The Etaples Military Cemetery is to the north of the town, on the west side of the road to Boulogne.
