Baptized Joseph Omérile Hudon. Son of Arsène Beaulieu-dit-Hudon (deceased in 1900) and Zoé Boucher, of Québec. He stated being born in 1890 when he enlisted. He enrolled on 22 March 1916 to serve overseas but he was serving in Canada since 12 January 1916.
From January 12, 1916, until his enlistment on March 29 in the 57th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he served in the 17th Lévis Regiment and was promoted to lieutenant. He sailed for Great Britain on June 2, 1916, and landed in Liverpool, England, on the 8th. Upon his arrival, he was assigned to the 69th Reserve Battalion. On July 8, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion. He was wounded in action during the Battle of the Somme on July 13, 1916, and was evacuated to England on the 15th. On October 16, he returned to his battalion and went back to France on the 17th. On the 21st, he was on the front lines. He was killed in action on November 1, 1916, during an assault in the Mecknes trenches at Angres, Pas-de-Calais, by a Whizzbang shell.
