Pte. Raymond Whitaker's brother Ewart Gladstone Whitaker was born June 1st, 1896, and enlisted on February 4th, 1916. George Edward Whitaker (322921), was born December 1st, 1897 and enlisted on March 14th, 1916. Both enlisted in Guelph, Ontario, and both indicated that they were students. All 3 brothers named their uncle, W. H. Whitaker, 144 Chatham Street, Brantford, Ontario, as their next-of-kin on their military attestations.

The town of St. Pol is about 29 kilometres south-west of Bethune and 34 kilometres west-north-west of Arras. The ST. POL BRITISH CEMETERY is to the south of the town on the road to Frevent (D.916).
