Additional information
Baptized Joseph-Wilbrod-Roméo Laforest. Son of Marie-Louise Brisson (deceased 1905) and Magloire Laforest (remarried 1906 to Célanire Brisson and died 1910). He had declared to be born in 1899 when he enlisted.

He named his sister Marie (wife of Télesphore Tessier of Lachute) as his next of kin but enlisted under the first name "Wilfrid"; perhaps to hide the fact from her until he was sent overseas.
