Avion British Cemetery (The Sandpits) and Chinook Annapolis and Sumack Cemeteries, Vimy whose graves were destroyed in later battles. Their glory shall not be blotted out" (John & Anne Stephens 2013)

Private Thomas Culbert
Pte. Thomas Culbert was born in Belfast, Ireland. He enlisted in the 126th "Peel" Battalion, C.E.F. in Toronto on January 13th, 1916. His brother Bugler James Culbert, 157563, enlisted with the 81st Battalion C.E.F. on October 7th, 1915. Another brother, Corp. William Culbert, 9182, enlisted with the First Canadian Contingent on September 22nd, 1914 at Valcartier Camp, Quebec. He served with the 3rd Battalion C.E.F., and is described in this article as one of the "returned heroes". In grateful memory.
