Baptized Joseph-Achille-Armand Brissette. Son of Godfroy Brissette (deceased in 1915) and Marie-Louise Loiseau (deceased in 1901), of Chambly, Québec. He declared being an orphan, born 27 November 1895, and named his sister Emma as next of kin when he enlisted. His father died seven months after he enlisted, and eleven days before Armand departed overseas.

He previously served for two years in the 83rd Regiment. Enlisted on 24 October 1914 with the 22nd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he arrived in England on 29 May 1915 and in France the following 15 September. He was killed in action on 17 June 1916 at Mont-Sorrel during the fighting in the Ypres Salient in Belgium.
