Additional information
Baptized Joseph-Arthur-Roméo Dion. Son of Joseph Dion (deceased in 1904) and Henriette Sénécal (remarried in 1906 to Ovila Archambault), of Montréal, Québec. He stated being born on 24 June when he enlisted.

Arthur served at the front for three months with the 22nd Battalion and was evacuated to England after being wounded in Courcelette, in September 1916. Once healed, he was transferred to the engineers troops and returned to the front in Fall 1917. He was killed by a shell near « Railway Wood » in the Ypres Salient, during a resupply patrol.

MENIN ROAD SOUTH MILITARY CEMETERY is located 2 Kilometres east of Ieper town centre, on the Meenseweg (N8), connecting Ieper to Menen.

From Ieper town centre the Meenseweg is located via Torhoutstraat and right onto Basculestraat. Basculestraat ends at a main cross roads, directly over which begins the Meenseweg.

The MENIN ROAD SOUTH MILITARY CEMETERY is located 800 metres along the Meenseweg on the right hand side of the road.
