New Brunswick

This memorial is dedicated to the survivors of the First and Second World Wars and Korea. It replaces the gun that was removed during the Second World War and melted down for the war effort with a promise that it would be replaced. This Howitzer was obtained form the Canadian Government in the year 2000.

The Kingsclear First Nation Cenotaph was constructed in 1996 in memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice. It was dedicated on November 11, 1996, with members of the Fredericton Royal Canadian Legion Branch 4 conducting the service under the direction of the Reverend Reginald Miller. The cenotaph was designed by Richard Frances, a member of the Kingsclear First Nation.

Unveiled 9 July 1967, this memorial is dedicated to two local men killed during the world wars, Private Aldice M. Getchell and Lieutenant Norman J. Nixon. Getchell served with the 115th Battalion and was killed in 1918. Lt. Nixon served with the Cape Breton Highlanders and was killed in 1945. Both of these men attended the Mayfield School. Nixon also taught at the school.

This memorial is dedicated to the local veterans of Canada's wars. St. Stephen Rural Cemetery For a great many years, it was the custom of the Branch to place flags on all veterans' graves in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery and other Cemeteries in the surrounding areas. The purchase of the small flags began to become very expensive and they only lasted for a short time. Comrade Phil Grimmer and his family offered to place a permanent stone at the entrance of the St. Stephen Rural Cemetery to honour all veterans who are buried in the Cemetery. This was greatly accepted by the members of the Branch. The stone is of red granite and suitably inscribed. A memorial and dedication ceremony was held in the summer of 1995, conducted by the Chaplin, Comrade Doug Dougherty. The members of the Branch and the Ladies Auxiliary attended the service, as well as the general public. The flag staff carries the New Brunswick Flag, the Canadian Flag and the Union Jack. The small flags are still placed on the veterans' graves in the many rural cemeteries in the area.

This memorial is dedicated to the Volunteers overseas from the Parish of Greenwich 1914-1918. About 25 names honoured dead. It was erected by the Women's Institute.
