In the early 1960s, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 18 was named after Corporal Herman James Good, a local from Bathurst who was a recipient of the Victoria Cross. The Legion was previously located at 575 St. Peters Avenue before the new Legion was built in 2019.

The War Museum, founded in 1956, is full of artifact collections including uniforms, weapons, medals, information on the regiments that originated from the First World War and the Second World War. Lieutenant Colonel M. H. Rogers opened the museum in the basement of the officers’ mess on Murray Avenue in 1956. Rogers was a member of the North Shore Regiment and participated in the Normandy landing, where many soldiers from northern New Brunswick lost their lives. The North Shore Regiment long history of dedication and courage began in the New Brunswick militia in 1870. In 1971, George Smith salvaged the collections from the old museum to display them in the Legion on St. Peters Avenue. The museum was moved again to the new Legion in 2019.

Erected by the town of Beresford, this memorial is dedicated to the veterans of Beresford. For Second World War veteran Georges D. Comeau, completion of a Cenotaph in the town of Beresford is a dream come true. Mr. Comeau spearheaded a local group of veterans which, together with Ms. Ruth White who was town councillor of Beresford in 1992, worked to obtain a Cenotaph to commemorate the veterans of the Second World War. Located close to the entry of the Beresford Mall, the Cenotaph was made with fieldstones hand picked by Mr. Comeau in local fields while many local businesspeople helped by providing other materials and the labour. The land is owned by the town of Beresford.
