Inscription
Leon Holmes was born in Borrowash in 1893, the son of John and Rose Holmes. He enlisted at Sudbury, Ontario on 19th June 1916 whilst living with his wife, Marie, at Crean Hill. He was a fitter by trade. -

This is the Ockbrook and Borrowash War Memorial in Derbyshire on which Leon Holmes's name is commemorated. -
Inscription
His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial. Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
