Burial/memorial information
Born George Frederick Le Sueur Hawkins Pierson Place, St Helier, Jersey. His father Philip George Hawkins (painter by trade), married Susanne Budge in Nova Scotia and traveled to Jersey, GB where Philip was from. Sadly, Philip died (July 1898), within George's first year, and the Government of Jersey paid for Susanne and 5 children to return to her native Nova Scotia on the SS Vancouver from Liverpool on 1 January 1899.
Brother of Private James Van Alstine Baring Gould Hawkins, who died while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Nova Scotia Regiment).
