Brother of Private Charles MacKenzie Woodside, who died on August 10, 1918, while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment) and Private Allen Ray Woodside, who died on June 6, 1916 while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment).
