  • Circumstances of Death– Source: Library and Archives Canada.  CIRCUMSTANCES OF DEATH REGISTERS FIRST WORLD WAR Surnames:  Bell to Bernaquez.  Mircoform Sequence 8; Volume Number 31829_B016718; Reference RG150, 1992-93/314, 152 Page 309 of 670.
  • Cenotaph– 14 men from the local farming community never returned to Canada.  The memorial to the men of Alingly, SK. Only the cemetery remains.
  • Medals– Military Medal, 14-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal to Pte John Henry Belt who attested in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on 14 Oct 1914. Belt was KIA at Iwuy, France during savage fighting that saw the 28th suffer 19 KIA's, and over 96 wounded (this was during the pursuit, when heavy casualties were, for the most part, were no longer the case. Belt is one of 14 men from the Alingly, SK who never were killed during the Great War.
