  • Circumstances of death registers– Pte Baker had only started to learn to swim.  After a baseball game, she and friends decided to bathe.  She and another woman got into difficulties.  Baker went under the water and drowned.  The other woman was rescued.  Full Court of Inquiry through Ancestry.ca   She was one of eleven children.
  • Memorial– On May 5, 2001, the Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario, Her Honour Mrs. Hillary Weston unveiled the Canadian Women's Army Corps Memorial Monument in Kitchenor Waterloo. This memorial honours the women who served in the C.W.A.C. between 1941 and 1946. It also lists those who died while on service.
