Son of Margaret Munro of Guelph, Ontario. Lt. Munro served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, serving with the 174th Grey Overseas Battalion, before serving with the Royal Canadian Regiment where he saw service in Canada, France and the United Kingdom. On enlistment, Lt. Gray stated he was a student and single.
