Son of John Joseph and Etta Winola Lambert, of Maxim, Saskatchewan. Brother of Private Francis Bacon Lambert, who died on July 30, 1917, while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment) and Private Bertram Arthur Lambert, who died on April 9, 1917, while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment).
