August 3, 1890

Private Alexander Ralph Eby was the Grandson of Menno Eby and Elizabeth Sophia Becker of Waterloo County, Ontario. He was born in 1891. He moved to a homestead in Saskatchewan in 1909 and in August 1914 he enlisted at Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Location:

Fleurbaix is a village about 5 kilometres south-west of Armentieres. RUE-DAVID MILITARY CEMETERY lies to the south-east of the village. Leave Fleurbaix heading towards Armentieres, 300 metres from the centre of Fleurbaix turn right towards Bois Grenier. After a further 1 kilometre turn right again, follow the road round a sharp left hand bend, and the Cemetery is approximately 500 metres further on.

Killed in action, in France, March 21st 1915. First native of Waterloo Tp. victim of war. The photographer, Levi R. Yost, operated a photography studio at 175 King Street West in Berlin, Ontario, from 1915 to 1920. His studio was located at 12 King Street West, Berlin in 1912.
