He was a graduate of Royal Military College, Kingston, Ontario. He served in the South African Campaign. He served with the Coldstream Guards, 1st Bn. He died on 9 Oct 1915. He was buried in Lillers Communcal Cemetery in Pas de Calais, France. -

LILLERS COMMUNAL CEMETERY Pas de Calais, France
Lillers is a small town about 15 kilometres west-north-west of Bethune and the, LILLERS COMMUNAL CEMETERY lies to the north of the town. From the Mairie in the centre of the town, head north on the D182, after 500 metres turn right onto Rue St. Venant. The cemetery is a further 200 metres on the left hand side. The Commonwealth burials are at the far end of the communal plot.
