Son of Arthur William and Elizabeth May (nee Crooker) Hunter, of Armstrong, British Columbia. Brother of Russell, Cassie, Ernest, Ivan and Private Herbert Watkins Hunter, 54th Battalion, died of wounds 21 November 1916 and Corporal Wray Ferguson Hunter, 15th Battalion, killed in action 9 April 1917.
