Brother of Private Benjamin Edward Kaine, who died at Vimy Ridge while serving with the Canadian Infantry 87th Battalion, CEF (Manitoba Regiment) and uncle of Rifleman Thomas Wellington Snear, who died as a prisoner of war in Japan while serving with the Royal Rifles of Canada.
