  • Photo of RICHARD ROY SEARS– Taken by an archaeological research group based in Wiltshire, UK, who have been recording predominently ANZAC graffiti in a church near to the Salisbury Plain. They have found a few WW1 Canadian graffiti (albeit in the minority). A positive identification is difficult but it is likely the graffiti belonged to Lance Corporal Spears. Bearing in mind this is written in pencil and has survived over a century, it provides a tangible tribute to those who served. This image is credited to Brett Killington.
