  • Grave Marker– Grave of 506706 Sapper William Thomas who served with the 4th Tunnelling Co. Canadian Engneers C.E.F. William was born in the town of Mertha in Glamorganshire Wales on Sept. 11th 1875. Husband of Emma Thomas, William enlisted into the C.E.F. at Nanaimo BC on April 27th 1916 he listed prior military service of 3 years with the Cardigan Artillery (Militia) he listed his occupation as "Miner"  Thomas died in Vancouver BC of the Spanish Flu on April 16th 1919 at the age of 43.  He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC
