Son of Louis and Parmelie (née Gelinas) Cartier, of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec; husband of Rosalie Cartier, St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. He was medically discharged to Montreal, Quebec on 15 February 1918, after returning home on the Hospital Ship Letitia on 13 May 1917. He was a mechanic.
