Lieutenant Meredith had an unconventional service history, initially being discharged at Victoria on February 14, 1916 after being wounded at Festubert on May 21, 1915 while serving with the 16th Battalion C.E.F. He re-enlisted on March 16, 1916 and was subsequently seconded for duty with the R.F.C. on October 4, 1917. -
