  • Grave marker– The grave of Private John MacDonald #1042181 was located in the Cluny Hill Cemetery in Forres, Moray, Scotland. A request for a picture of the headstone was posted to Find-A-Grave and a member responded.
  • Circumstances of death registers– Private John MacDonald #1042181 died at 19 High Street, Forres, Scotland of Phthisis (pulmonary tuberculosis or a similar progressive systemic disease) of both lungs on 13 May 1920. His death was reported as "Attributable to Service".
  • Graves registration form– Private John MacDonald #1042181 is not mentioned by name on the Graves Registration Report Form but his burial clue is in the entry from Private A Hebert #2228381. You will note in the "remarks" that it says "2 other burials - no entry in Register but believed to be Canadian Soldier buried 12-5-21". It was noted that there was a separate report, however it has not been located.
