Cst. Ferguson was born in in Ontario. He served two years on the east coast and then was posted to Cambridge Bay, NWT. He died while on duty of carbon monoxide poisoning aboard the Kingalik near Cape Alexander, Northwest Territories. Cst. Ferguson is buried in Brockville, Ontario.

Commemorated on Page 109 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
