David Douglas

David Douglas has been involved with various Veterans organizations for 20 years. David has volunteered his time and taken on leadership roles with Jimmy and Associates, the annual Canadian National Exhibition Warriors Day Parade, The Royal Canadian Legion and as part of the Toronto Signals Band.

Since 2004, David has been volunteering as a bandsman with the Toronto Signals Band, a volunteer duty band based out of the Fort York Armoury. No longer able to perform with the band, David now serves as the regimental liaison officer for the band.

David has also volunteered for the past 15 years as a member of Jimmy and Associates, including for two terms as President and as immediate Past President. Jimmy and Associates supports and maintains the comradeship of its members of the Royal Canadian Corps of signals, the Communication and Electronics Branch and their affiliates.

David volunteers his time as a judge at the annual Warriors Day Parade and has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 12 years. He volunteers as a judge for the Legion’s public speaking program and with the annual Poppy Campaign.

David is a member of the historical 78th Fraser Highland Regiment, which is dedicated to educating the population on the history and contributions of the Fraser Highlanders. He is also a member of the 29th Division, Post #93 US Army, recognizing their support and aids to their Veterans in need.

Due to David’s military expertise, he was invited to participate in Veterans Affairs Canada panels and has served on political party policy forums, specifically addressing the needs of Veterans.

David helped organize and attended two delegations of Veterans of the Second World War on their return to Europe to commemorate the 65th anniversary of D-Day and 65th anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands.

David continues to be very active with the 32 Signal Regimental Advisory Council and was appointed to the 32 Signal Regimental Family Association in support of the Regiment’s Veterans and serving soldiers.
