Son of Théophile Laberge (deceased in 1917) and Aurélie St-Germain (deceased in 1907), of Verdun, Québec.
He stated being born on the 19th in Verdun when he enlisted.
Drafted under the Military Service Act of 1917, he reported to the 2nd Battalion Depot of the 2nd Quebec Regiment of the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Montreal, Quebec, on October 17, 1917, and was enlisted on March 1, 1918. He sailed for Great Britain on March 24 and landed in England on April 3. On August 13, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion and crossed over to France that same day. He joined his new unit on the 15th and went to the front lines. He was killed in action on August 27, 1918, during the Battle of Chérisy, Pas-de-Calais.
