Inscription
His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial. Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -

Medals
BWM and VM to Lieut. W. Grant. These are Walter Grant's medals, found in Saskatoon after an estate sale. He is the only W. Grant who joined the 196th and eventually received his commission. He died in his action with the 5th Western Cavalry at Hill 70. Of note, this 196th cap badge was found with his medals, which helped to determine his identity.
