Burial/memorial information
Baptized Joseph-Honoré-Edmond Labelle. Son of Toussaint Labelle and Mathilde Lacasse (deceased in 1909), of Montréal, Québec.
As a conscript, he enlisted at the 2nd Battalion Depot of the 2nd Quebec Regiment in the 4th Military District. He sailed for Great Britain on April 17, 1918, and arrived in Liverpool, England, on the 28th. Upon his arrival, he was assigned to the 10th Reserve Battalion. On the 31st, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion and crossed over to France that same day. He rejoined his unit on September 2 and went to the front lines on the 7th during the Canadian push against the Hindenburg Line, with the aim of breaking through German defenses in the Arras sector.
On 14 October 1918, at Iwuy, he was mortally wounded from shrapnel to the abdomen and he died of his wounds five days later at No. 33 Casualty clearing station, located at Boisleux-au-Mont.

BUCQUOY ROAD CEMETERY is situated on the D919 heading south from Arras to Ayette. The Cemetery is on the right hand side of the road, 9 kilometres from Arras, just before a crossroads with the D36 between Ficheux and Boisleux-au-Mont.
