Baptized Joseph-Alphonse-Lionel « Desrochers ». Son of Cléophas Durocher and Angélina Durocher, of Montréal, Québec. His last name was mistakenly inscribed « Desrochers » instead of « Durocher » in his baptismal record.

When he enlisted, he did not specify his date of birth and stated being 19 years old; he was in fact only 16. Moreover, to cover his tracks, he went to Sherbrooke to enlist and stated being born in Québec.

Commemorated on Page 81 of the First World War Book of Remembrance. Request a copy of this page. Download high resolution copy of this page.
