PARC MEMORIAL
ROTARY
MEMORIAL PAK
In 1978, a rectangular plot of land in the center of Dalhousie was rededicated as Rotary Memorial Park, in honour of Canada’s Veterans and those killed in combat. The Dalhousie Cenotaph is located in the park.
When the First World War took the lives of Sackville residents, the park was dedicated to their memory. With the addition of the cenotaph in 1922, it was designated as the town's Memorial Park.
In 2010, a Memorial Garden was added at the east side of the park and the HMCS Sackville Plaque was added. In 2014, the Royal Canadian Air Force Memorial was added to the garden.

In 1921 Professor W.S. Blair and Mr. G.C. Roy brought forward the idea for a public park to be added in Kentville. The city purchased a property on Park Street and the Memorial Park Commission was formed.
Between 1922 and 1924 an athletic field, ball field, grandstand, and playground were added.
On October 18, 1954 a war memorial cenotaph was unveiled.
By 1960 a swimming pool was added.
Today the park is a focal point in the community serving for recreational activities as well as a constant reminder of remembrance.
