The British Homechild Advocacy Research Association participated in the Canadian Immigration Hall -British Homechild. The Great War honour roll was sponsored by Trooper Len Brown in memory of his BHC mother Miriam Morris. 

The Never Again monument consists of an aluminum globe on a granite base beside an infrared granite slab, surrounded by 5 cement slabs with welded iron sculptures, boulders and three flagpoles - Gatineau, Quebec and Canada.

The Salaberry Armoury was named in memory of Lieutenant-Colonel Charles-Michel d’Irumberry de Salaberry, CB (November 1778 – February 1892).

Charles-Michel d’Irumberry de Salaberry was born in Beauport, near Quebec City, in November 1778. He enlisted in the British Army in 1792 at the age of 14, and saw action with the 60th Regiment in the West Indies and in the Netherlands. He was given a company command in 1803, continuing to serve in Europe and the West Indies. In 1810, de Salaberry was recalled to Canada with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He served as aide-de-camp to Major General Francis de Rottenburg, but in 1812 he was appointed to command a new corps of volunteers, the Canadian Voltigeurs (light infantry). Les Voltigeurs were essentially militia men, but de Salaberry trained them as regulars similar to the Fencible units raised in Upper Canada. In November 1812, de Salaberry commanded the advance guard of the force that turned away an American attack at La Colle Mill. Later, some Voltiguers took part in the decisive Battle of Crysler’s Farm. In October 1813, he confronted the Americans threatening Montreal. Colonel de Salaberry, at the head of some 300 Voltiguers and Canadian and Indian volunteers, repulsed several thousand American troops. In 1817, he was made a Companion of the Order of the Bath. He later became a legislative councilor for Lower Canada until his death in February 1829.

The Pogo, YFL104 a 36-foot auxiliary craft, built by Marine Industries Ltd and launched July 8, 1954, was the first RCN vessel to enter the uncharted waters of the Canadian Arctic. She completed surveys in 1955 to 1957. She was named for a newspaper comic staring POGO possum by cartoonist Walt Kelly. In the 1960’s, Pogo was transferred from Halifax to HMCS York, the Naval Reserve’s establishment in Toronto, to become the unit’s tender. In the mid-1970s she was transferred to HMCS Carleton at Dows Lake, Ottawa. She was transferred from the Department of National Defence to the Canadian War Museum in the summer of 1995. In spring 2005, the War Museum transferred ownership to the Outaouais Branch of the Navy League of Canada, to become the unit’s tender.

Pogo is an aluminum sounding boat which had accompanied the voyages of HMCS Labrador, Canada’s first and last Arctic Patrol vessel, and has a draught of just over three and a half feet. Outfitted with a Red Wing Model DOOD 66 hp inboard diesel engine, the Pogo could reach a top speed of 8.5 knots. The cruising range of the Pogo was 430 nautical miles. Her total displacement was 15,900 pounds. The forecastle was raised slightly from the rest of the deck, and inside were four berths, a galley and the head. The centre area of the deckhouse contained the operations cabin of Pogo’s research activities. The ship’s wheel was on the port side and the chart table was on the starboard. The aft section of Pogo’s hull contained two more berths and an open bridge on the deck above. Her mast head could fold down when carried in her davits and the fo’c’sle storage was separated from the forward crew compartment by a bulkhead and was only accessible by a hatch on the forward starboard deck. A bright yellow ice skiff was lashed to the centre of the deck behind the open bridge.

In the winter months, Pogo is located at the Leblanc Marina at 1213 Boulevard Hurtubise.

John Boucher 13D17073 is a work boat operated by the Maritime Affairs Committee Navy League of Canada – Outaouais Branch since June 1996. The main purpose of the boat today is to provide training for our sea cadets in RCN Cadet Corps la Hulloise (CCMRC no. 230). When not used by the cadets, it serves as a work boat for the Navy League. Before 1996, it was a work boat/lifeboat abroad Canadian Coast Guard ice break CCGS Pierre Radisson.

John A. Boucher (1930-2004) served with the RCN 1945-1970. Following his retirement from the Navy in 1970, John moved on to serve with Canada Post for 16 years, then with the Corps of Commissionaires for 4 years, with involvement during these years with the RCN Cadet Corps. John Boucher was the founder of the cadet corps la Hulloise (CCMRC no 230) sponsored by Maritime Affairs Committee Navy League of Canada - Outaouais Branch. The boat was named in his honour in 2004. He died in Ottawa, on his 76^th birthday, May 13, 2004.

Fred Gordon is a work boat operated by the Maritime Affairs Committee Navy League of Canada – Outaouais Branch since June 1996. The main purpose of the boat today is to provide training for our sea cadets in RCN Cadet Corps la Hulloise (CCMRC no. 230). When not used by the cadets, it serves as a work boat for the Navy League. The Fred Gordon is also used by the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary to conduct patrols on the Ottawa River at the time of the Casino Fireworks display. Before 1996, it was a work boat/lifeboat abroad Canadian Coast Guard ice break CCGS Sir Wilfrid Laurier.

WO1 (ret’d) Fred Gordon, EM, CD served as regimental Sergeant-Major for Le Regiment de Hull 1967-71. He was a member of the Hull Legion who supported the R.C.N. Cadet Corps la Hulloise (CCMRC no. 230) sponsored by Maritime Affairs Committee Navy League of Canada – Outaouais Branch. The boat was named in his honour.

This memorial, two bronze plaques, is dedicated to the members of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club who gave their lives in the First and Second World War. The large plaque lists the names of those killed in the First World War, and the smaller one (added later) lists the names of those killed in the Second World War. It was unveiled by the Royal Ottawa Golf Club.

This memorial, a tank (nicknamed Kiska) with a brass dedication plaque, is dedicated to former members of the Régiment de Hull. It was unveiled by the Department of National Defence on September 10, 2006.

The efforts of the Toronto Railway Mail Clerks during the Great War were remembered by a commemorative plaque. The Toronto Railway Mail Clerks lost five men in the First World War. In 1889, the Railway Mail Clerk’s Association meets for the first time. Around 1916, the Association becomes the Dominion Railway Mail Clerk’s Federation, and, later, about 1951, the union is renamed the Canadian Railway Mail Clerks’ Federation. This memorial was erected by the Railway Mail Clerk’s Association Toronto.
