Jeff Musson is the founder of Coding for Veterans (C4V), a groundbreaking non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and training in technology fields to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members, Veterans and their families.
Launched in 2019, C4V began as a visionary initiative to help military personnel transition into high-demand careers in information technology, software development and cybersecurity. In partnership with the University of Ottawa, Jeff helped establish a fully online, instructor-led and self-paced program that offers flexibility and accessibility—key factors for those adjusting to civilian life. What began with just five students has grown into a transformative national program, with over 1,000 students enrolled as of 2026.
One of Jeff’s most significant achievements was securing eligibility for the program under Veterans Affairs Canada’s Education and Training Benefit (ETB), ensuring financial support for Veterans pursuing a new career path. His commitment to accessibility extended to medically released Veterans as well—working with Manulife and VAC to ensure they could enroll and receive funding.
Even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jeff’s dedication never wavered. He personally drove across Canada, visiting CAF bases to promote the program and ensure that Veterans, no matter where they were located, knew about the opportunities available to them.
In 2021, Jeff expanded the program’s reach by partnering with the Ontario Ministry of Labour, enabling spouses and reservists in Ontario to access funding for C4V courses. His efforts have made the program more inclusive and impactful for the broader military community.
In 2023, C4V formed a lasting partnership with the Commissionaires after hiring one of its own graduates. This collaboration has enhanced student support through resume coaching, interview preparation and mentorship—further strengthening the bridge between education and employment.
Jeff has also fostered collaboration with other Veteran-focused organizations, including Team Rubicon, Helmets to Hardhats and Respect Canada, creating a broader ecosystem of support and opportunity.
Through his leadership, Jeff Musson has not only opened doors for Veterans in the tech industry, but he has also built a platform that transforms lives. Veterans who once faced uncertainty in their transition to civilian life are now thriving in meaningful, future-ready careers, thanks to Jeff’s vision and determination.
