Son of Thomas Evans, of Bethnal Green, London, England, and Mary Evans; husband of Jane Wilson (formerly Evans), St. Thomas, Ontario. Brother of Edward and brother-in-law of Elizabeth Grimshire. Pte Evans was medically discharged on 19 February 1917. He then re-enlisted for the second time on March 7, 1917.

Born in Pontypridd Wales on Jan 6th 1870.  He enlisted (2nd time) at Kamloops BC on March 7th 1917 and was part of the Railway Service Guards. He listed his occupation(s) as "Butcher & Rancher"  He died at Vancouver BC on Oct. 22nd 1918 at the age of 59.
