[plaque/plaque]

This memorial, originally erected in 1964 par la Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste of the Valleyfield diocese and relocated in 1996, commemorates the victory of colonel Charles-Michel d'Irumberry de Salaberry at the Battle of Châteauguay in 1813. The Salaberry-de-Valleyfield toponymy is a great compromise to the French-English duality.
